I recently upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP Pro and since then some cds that I burned when running ME cannot be read by XP. I will open My Computer nothing will appear in the window and eventually I will have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to end it. After upgrading to XP I change to the NTFS file system, whereas the cds were burned under a FAT32 system. Could this be the problem and if so how can I make my computer read these. It isn’t one certain type of cd either, some have mp3s, some movies, and some have my own personal files that I would like to retrieve. Any ideas what is wrong?
This will probably sound like a stupid question, but are you trying to read the CDRs in the same drive that burned them?
Yes, it is the same drive that burned them.
