Producers taking a hit on AGT

This season on America’s Got Talent(?), there have been 2 or 3 performers that have mentioned the routine they wanted to do. Despite what Nick Cannon says, it looks like the producers are telling the acts what to do from adding background singers dancers to outright changing the routines,

What d’ya think? Are the producers interferring too much in the acts? Is it costing some performers a chance to making it to the next round?

Good question.
In some of the scenes before they perform, it does seem like there is some coaching going on. I always assumed it was their own coaches, but maybe the producers provide choreographers, music coaches, etc. for these performances.

Could be that the group’s “original idea” was deemed a bit drab or boring for the large stage and television cameras. For instance, I hardly think those young dancers came up with the whole idea for the Michael Jackson spectacular and the doll boxes, etc. and it would be a stretch to think their parents came up with that idea on their own.
