Products That Really Work

It’s in Diet Rite Cola! I also like Splenda.

C’mon over, Zenster! The water’s fine! (Err…the bourbon, whatever…)

:stuck_out_tongue:

ANIMAL MEDICINE

Panalog:[ul]This anti-fungal, bacteriostatic artificial skin unguent heals animal wounds and lesions quickly. My fantastic veterinarian will not recommend cheaper substitutes because they do not work as well. I have had fabulous results with this ointment. It helps alleviate scarring and promotes regrowth of fur at the same time. It is also available in an ocular compound for eye infections. Ask your vet about this product.[/ul]
HUMAN MEDICINE

Spec-T:[ul]This line of cough and cold lozenges by Squibb really does the trick. Direct, no frills suppression of symptoms makes them easy to recommend.[/ul]

OdorNix, huh? I take it my smokey furniture could benefit from this product? I’m gonna try it!

Oxyclean works well. It got purple hair dye out of a white towel. It also works on a variety of little kid stains.

Didi 7–my dad had to clean a huge rust stain on the outside of a white building. He tried EVERYTHING and the only thing that worked was Didi 7.

Speaking of cleaning products, I need recommendations. I’m about to move out of my apartment. I’ve been here a year, and I haven’t cleaned my bathroom since…well…about a year ago.

So I’ve got to get it back to mint condition before I move out. What would YOU use?

Leatherman multi-tools are great. Very solidly built and they work well. I have the Leatherman Micra on my keychain and use it all the time.

Short of reinstalling new fixtures? :stuck_out_tongue:

Buy or borrow a Black & Decker Scum Buster. Neat battery operated scrubber that comes with a bunch of attachments to get at nearly everything. If you have mildew problems, try Tilex or any of the other similar products that have chlorine bleach in them. (Just don’t mix them with the ammonia…) :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

For us girls who are well endowed Berie Shock Absorber Level 4 sports bra. It actually stops the bounce! It is also the most comfortable bra I’ve ever owned.

Alcohol.
Melatonin.
Dimetapp.

Although not recommended in combination! (I am a fan of synergy, by the way, but you never know if an alcohol warning is due to potential liver damage :()

Naughty, naughty Smeggers!

Read the frickin’ OP. CLR and Zud will get you way ahead in the game. Some Scotchbrite, TSP and a humongous heapin’ helpin’ of good old fashioned elbow grease should be on the list too. Don’t waste the more expensive stain removers until you’ve first left some moistened Ajax or other powdered cleanser on the surface overnight. Rinse it off completely (no cleaning agent synergy, please) and if the stain persists, go in with the big guns.

I can’t beleive nobody has mentioned JB Weld. The wonder epoxy that can fix almost everything.

I’ve always been fond of Advil Cold and Sinus.

Clean and Clear Acne Patches work really well on those painful deep pimples that are red and swollen but haven’t yet come to a head. Dunno if it’s just my own physical chemistry, but for me, they’re like magic. They don’t do anything for blackheads or whiteheads, though, just the incipient pre-pimple bump.

Ok, I have these TV prizm glasses that allow you to lie back flat on your bed to watch tv. I thought, well ill probably use them for a couple weeks and they will go the way of the George Foreman Grill. I use these things everynight. There is nothing like lying flat while watching TV. The prizms are really high quality so there is no distortion.

As a collector of Kitchen Gagets these are some of the ones that not everyone will have that I find really work well.

Potato Ricer,
Beriner Mandolin (Japanese made, plastic with adjustable metal blade),
Heavy iron ridged broiling pan, (best way to cook steaks, if you don’t have a BBQ set up).

Not exactly gadgets, but I have been converted to using pre-crushed garlic and pre-crushed ginger from jars, as it is so much more convinient than having the fresh stuff arround. (but if I was cooking more often and in larger quantities I would probably revert to using the fresh ginger and garlic.

Cheers, Bippy

Zenster, on a related note, I just want to thank you for your imitation salsa casera recipe from way back in one of your recipe threads. Man, that stuff is great. It turned me onto buying the stuff in the supermarket, even though the supermarket that has it is 30 minutes away. I usually eat two bottles a week of this heavenly stuff.

Ephedra - it works and works well to crunch down your appetite.

Linksys routers have been pretty good products overall

Logitech mice are the best

Savane men’s pants

I fell under the evil influence of informercials, and bought a Foodsaver Deluxe vaccum system. My husband laughed at me.

It is the best purchase I have ever made! Steaks can be frozen for 6 months, still taste butcher fresh. We’ve used it to store bread, crackers, etc on camping and river trips. I’d seal up our wallets, keys, etc.

Simple Solution - available at pet stores, pet aisle at Wally World. This stuff is great - a natural enzyme that will remove all stains or odors that are natural ie. urine, blood, grass, mud, etc. I have light carpet, and this stuff saved it from the puppy.

ooh ooh o forgot about this one, although I have never seen it advertised…

KENGINGTON EXPERTMOUSE! I love a mouse with a big ball!

Nurse you beat me to JBweld. We use it all the time at work, and the guy who suggested it uses it for motorcycle repairs. It really stands the test.

If you bake a lot, get a Silpat (or equivalent, there is another brand name, but can’t think of it). These are incredible. Whatever you bake just slides right off.

Taggies are great toys. I bought a blanket and a takealong for my 6 month old nephew a couple of weeks ago, and it is his favorite thing now. If you hold out his Taggie and another toy for him, he always goes for the Taggie.

Finally my 3 favorite personal care items.
Maxfactor LipFinity- you have to get used to it, but I am a notorious liplicker, so lipstick doesn’t last, even Revlon Colorstay.
Neutrogena Healthy defense daily moisturizer- comes in light, medium and no tint, and is SPF30. I use tinted, so I don’t have to go for a foundation too.
Feria haircolor- I have long hair, and one bottle usually covers it all. Chocolate Cherry is my color!
