Where can I find the TV Prism glasses???
Grinna Girla! I’m also a fan of both Lipfinity and Feria (“Cool” and “Crushed Garnet”, respectively.)
I LOVE my Greased Lightning, and I think it works better than the Orange Blast stuff SilkyThreat recommends. However, Orange Blast does smell better. LOTS better, in fact.
For cleaning my diamond ring - the best thing I’ve found is Tilex Soap Scum remover.
Sonicare electric toothbrush. After polling the SDMB, I bought one last year. Really cleans!
You are most definitely welcome Novus. I had to purchase a tin of Herdez salsa casera just today before going to one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Fremont. They are totally understanding and open it in the kitchen before bringing it to table. I then slather their incredibly super-fine beef tacos dorados (hardshell tacos) with copious quantities. I am only now beginning to get hungry again. So glad to know that someone else enjoys this splendid product. Lately, Foodmaxx had the small tins for all of 25¢ each. I bought them every time I went there, just on principal. I’m finally beginning to run out and wish I had bought even more.
Which model do you have? I love mine, but it’s the old design (beige, 2 buttons). I don’t like the looks of the new design but if it feels as good as the old one I might give it a try.

Palmolive Pot and Pan Scrub–really gets the gunk off the dishes when someone forgets to rinse them.
Lasting Pride cat litter (side note: shouldn’t it be called something different? Like Temporary Shame or something? I don’t want my cats to have lasting pride in their poo): low dust cat litter that is scoopable and flushable and still vaccums up easily.
St. Ives Apricot Scrub: really exfoliates well, and doesn’t rip my face to shreds or cause breakouts.
Clairol Natural Instincts haircolor: I love this stuff for a temporary change.
LipRageous lipbalm: good flavors and it’s cheap and works well.
OK, it says it’s a Corky. It’s really one of those needle-like bottle openers that pumps air underneath the cork and pops the cork out of wine bottles. Unbelievable!
It works every time, quickly, and NEVER screws up the cork. I am saved from ever ruining a good bottle of wine, plus everyone has the “can I try it?” question. The Perfect Product.
In the past 2 weeks I’ve tried 2 products that have amazed me at how well they work.
** Anew Ultimate Cream by Avon** It’s way overpriced, but I got it for less than half the price on Ebay. I’ve been using it for 2 weeks and I look like I’ve had a facelift!
** Puralin Weight Loss Tablets**. I just needed something to control my apetite and help me loose a few pounds. Weight Watchers made me hungry, other “diet pills” made me sick, (plus my pee smelled like boiled chicken). They’re homeopathic, and have no side affects.
I should have specified that I hate cola, and I can’t tolerate much caffeine. Maybe DR has a lemon-lime flavor with Splenda in it?
This should answer your questions about Splenda.
TV glasses are actually now available at Hammacher Shlemmer:
It’s also so dangerous that many people of all political stripes want it banned or at the very least available only by prescription. Not to hijack, but I think this is a genuinely dangerous product.
As for good products:
God bless the George Foreman grill. It may not be much of a fat buster, but the food it makes is fantastic and it’s damn fast. Thanks to this glorious product, college students are now getting actual protein in their diets.
Dryel at-home dry cleaning. The stain remover works really well and it sucks out all the odors and just makes your clothes feel… nice.
I’ll second the warning about ephedra - don’t go taking this stuff without at least checking with your Dr. first. By itself or taken with other medications, it can really do some damage, especially if you take too much and exercise strenuously.
Oil of Olay daily facials really do make your skin feel like you had a facial - cut them in half to make them last twice as long (they’re still big enough to use on your whole face and this makes them really cost-effective, too!)
Diet Dr. Pepper really does taste more like regular Dr. Pepper.
Burt’s Bees Lip Balm – great on cuticles, too
Index cards – no seriously, they are the most useful things in my life
Self-adhering bandage wraps – a must for people allergic to adhesives
New Balance Tennies
Tivo. I now drink the kool-aid.
Ok, I won’t seem so frivolous posting personal care products since others have, as well…
I swear by Clean and Clear Moisturizer. I am blessed ::coughcoughhackRIGHTcough:: with combination skin - not just oily in some parts, but generally all over oily and flaky. (The flakes probably come more from having sensitive skin than being dry, but they’re there.) This stuff is a moisturizer with acne-fighting ingredients. I think it’s a GODSEND - I slather my face in it morning and night to get rid of the dryness and my face doesn’t feel gunky.
Bad url. BAD BAD url…sigh Tivo again
Oh, and something else…
Febreeze is nasty and has a distinctive smell (even though it claims it has no odor).
Bounce Fabric Refresher is cheaper and actually smells like laundry detergent and dryer sheets. Yay!
IMPORTANT NOTE:
I wanted to post a special thanks for those who provided ephedra warnings in this thread. While functional products are the major topic, I also specifically mentioned inclusion of products that do not work. Ones that can kill you fall under this category.
Keep up the good work fellow board members, let’s make this thread a compendium of worthwhile commercial purchases. In addition, personal care products are completely welcome here. So long as they deliver good bang-for-the-buck, please feel free to mention them.
