Products where the original/best known is also inferior?

What products are there where (in your humble opinion) are the original/most popular ones also the worst available?

For me, there are two - ChapStick seems like the waxiest, least comfortable lip balm. I prefer every other one I’ve tried, including ones from the dollar store.

The other is Tater Tots. I like every other brand, including supermarket brands, over Ore Ida’s product.

I fully expect Microsoft and PCs to take over this thread, so no comment from me on those.

PCs are not inferior. They are superior in almost every way.

Puffs is better than Kleenex.

There are car manufacturers better than Daimler

Trojans are the least reliable of the major brands of condoms. I would much rather use Durex if possible - unfortunately Durex doesn’t make condoms big enough to fit my boyfriend so the Trojan Magnum XL will have to do, but if I find Durex or Lifestyles larger sized condoms I will switch to those immediately.

IBM PCs, on the other hand, are a load of dog’s bollocks when compared with most other branded PCs.

Ah when you say it like that the statement has some merit.

VHS < Betamax (though technically Beta was earlier)

DVD < Blu-Ray --or is that unfair?

Kraft Macaroni & Cheese is a horrid-smelling atrocity made from melted yellow-orange traffic cones and artificial rancid flavoring. Annie’s Shells & Cheddar tastes like food.

Thanks, Quisp! They don’t even have those on the Lifestyles website…I wonder if they still make them or if the condomdepot just ordered a ton of them a while back?

That might be the best-known, but it’s not the original.

Hmm…looking at the stats the Lifestyles XL are the same size as the standard Durex, but they do carry Durex Love which are larger than normal. I think those are the ones I will order.

If you are only trying to prevent conception, and are not worried about STD’s, you might want to try lambskins. They seem to be the most comfortable of all the condoms out there. So I’ve been told. Being female I’ve never had the chance to try them on myself

I have used Trojan and Durex-branded condoms. I found the Trojan brand ones more comfortable.

Colt revolvers are arguably worse than those from Smith & Wesson and Ruger, although that may not be exactly the proper comparison.

It isn’t about comfort, so to speak, though that is important. The most important thing is prevention of pregnancy and any possible STDs. We have both been tested in the last year but we’ve both been with other people since we were tested so disease prevention is a big reason we use condoms.

I used to work at a store called Condoms to Go and we got all sorts of statistical information about every brand of condom we carried, every vibrator, every cock ring, etc. The statistics about trojans made me sad that they are the most popular brand in the US. They have a much higher breakage and failure rates than the other popular brands. Granted, this put them around 94% instead of 97% (I’m making up numbers because I don’t remember the exact numbers on all the paperwork we recieved when I worked there) but it was enough of a difference that I would much rather use Durex or Lifestyles if the opportunity presents itself. Thanks to the link you referred me to I now have an order of the Durex Love (which are bigger than normal but slightly smaller than the Magnums) being delivered to my apartment next week!

Cheerios have the most rancid grit when the main bowl is finished. I have never had a generic brand do this.

As opposed to dining in?

Especially since the term “Colt Revolver” causes most people to think of the Colt Peacemaker, which was obsolete before the Spanish-American War at the end of the 19th century. But yeah, given a choice between a Colt Police Positive or a Smith & Wesson Model 10, I’ll take the Smith & Wesson any day of the week.

I came in here to suggest iPods. Yes, I know, blasphemy, heresy, etc, but really, there are other brands like Creative and SanDisk who provide a better product (ie, one that has a radio in it, no iTunes, more reliable) for less money than the Apple iPod.
