Profanity on Dutch TV

I was watching S15 of "Wie is de Mol on YouTube, and noticed on the first episode the contents exclaimed, in English
“What the F—. Dude!”
“F–”
“Oh My God!”

These weren’t bleeped out, but nor were they subtitled into Dutch

  1. I’m assuming profanity of this sort is acceptable, but not encouraged on standard Dutch TV (which would be totally unacceptable on US broadcast)?

  2. Do the Dutch in general swear in English. (Although I’m assuming the F word itself is pretty universal now).

If it is anything like Sweden, where there is a similar high standard of English and no dubbing, then people will swear in English and the words don’t resonate the same way.

Kanal 5 in Sweden used to be officially broadcast out of the U.K. and was covered by OFCOM, the standards body for broadcast media. They used to regularly get in trouble with OFCOM for swearing before the 9pm watershed. Like middle of the morning before the watershed.

They show explicit sex on Dutch TV. A little swearing is not big deal.
