bbbbbllllluuuuurrrrrfffff
Well, I do try and keep a pair of pants handy in case of visitors…and yes, I am typing this in my slippers… (I know, TMI, but since swampy started it…)
Got any of that bleach left, spidey?
Need to do a little shopping today, but otherwise not much on the schedule. Tunder-Boomers are in the forecast, we’ll see if they show up.
Happy Firday!
It’s going to be hot outside today.
We should go grocery shopping, but I don’t want to. I think we’ll order pizza today and shop tomorrow.
BLURF TGIF finally. Tis been a long week.
Come on 1700.
Lunch can sneak up on you when you have interesting stuff to do. And I do - like real engineering stuff!
So it’s a good day.
And now, to ingest sammich and stuff. Yum!
Howdy Y’all! Telephone man got here just after eight this mornin’ miracle of miracles! Anywho, the outside wirin’ was to put it gently fubar. He said he couldn’t believe it was not replaced several years ago. He showed me what it looked like and ICK! Corroded wires and all kinds of yucky stuff. Anywho he fixed it within an hour and no problems with phone and intatoobz so far. Since he came early, I went ahead and accomplished mowage. Now I’m all cleanded up and have had a sammich. Chillage shall ensue the rest of the day.
Dindin shall be the [del]hog trough[/del] Golden Corral. I shall meet OYKW there around four whilst the old geezer discount is in effect. They have good fried chikin so I’m down with that.
Now to see what’s doin’ on teh intartoobz.
I made quinoa topped with fried eggs and hot sauce for brunch. I vacuumed. Judging by the amount of hair in the bin, I have 5 hidden dogs somewhere in the apartment.:dubious:
It is so hot out (how hot is it?) that it has literally made me dumber. Like, I could feel my brain frying. After work I shall wait for the Roomies to get home, and then we shall go to the lake. I really hate summer.
Gordie has shed layers of himself?
TGIF!
mid day blurf Our dishwasher has died so I have been shopping for a new one online. I found the one I want just have to wait til tonight to order it so hubby can pay for it.
Had a nice lunch of Cuban chicken and rice. Was yummy.
Back to the grindstone.

So did you get it with a buzz? Won’t ask about the ding-a-ling… ![]()
When we had problems with our phones it was because the squirrels had chewed up the outside wires.
My mother’s previous deceased bf (not the current deceased bf) used to shoot the rabbits and feed the squirrels. I think it should have been the other way around.
The baby bunnies out back are getting bigger. Sooner or later though, we have to mow where the nest is.
More spider flower plants came up this year. I don’t think they were in the wild flower mix, they just came up on their own. So far the only recognizable wild flowers are the daisies. There’s wild strawberries out there too. I still haven’t identified the white flowers that look a bit like queen anne’s lace. It’s kind of fun to see what comes up if you skip mowing part of the yard.
We have a literal jungle of ferns. The dogs like to pretend they’re on safari when they go back there to poop. We had the yard cleared and seeded right at the end of the season last year, and it took most of the spring and beginning of the summer to get any grass in the backyard at all. We still haven’t actually managed to mow it, but I at least cut it down to ankle-height with a weed whacker a couple weeks ago. The big problem is the giant burdock right in the damn middle of the yard. I do not have the energy to dig up every root, so we just keep cutting it whenever it gets tall enough to bother.
I collected stamps quite a bit of my life, but gave it up when it was no longer fun. Then my uncle died, my sister the executrix. He had “invested” quite a bit in stamps, and rather than take to a stamp dealer, she gave me the collection to sell for her. I went and got the latest Scott catalogs out of the library, broke up the collection, put sets on Ebay, and got probably ten times what a dealer would have offered for the lot. I enjoyed every minute of it, so I got the pleasure of doing it, plus the income.
Pizza has been ordered, delivered, and eaten. As well as the brownie/cookie/ thingie.
My tart cherry concentrate was delivered today. I hope it helps with all the pain in my joints I’ve been having lately.
I hate to be always complaining about some ailment or another, but I have been really hurting the last few weeks, knees, ankles, toes, elbows, wrists, knuckles, fingers.
Drae have you tried pouring boiling water on it? Or even better, dissolve some rock salt in boiling water.
Home - I had a good, busy afternoon. I talked with the electrical engineer on this job and showed him what I’d done so far. We talked about where to locate certain components and whether heat would be an issue. I offered to email him pictures early next week when my part is done, but he’s going to be on vacation and there’s no way I’m going to bug him when he should be having fun. So I’ll do what I can and if he needs me to change anything, that’s relatively easy.
All in all, it was a good afternoon. Now we’re trying to decide where to go for supper. I’s hongree!!!
Howdy Y’all! We have bee to [del]the hog trough[/del] Golden Coral and feasted. We’s stuffded! Also, we had a nice rain this afternoon and hopefully will have more. YAY!
I got it on the side of the house next to the hvac unit.
Blurf. I spent some down time at irk today updating various accounts with our new address. Now that we’ve closed and the change of address is official, I changed our driver’s licenses, as well as our voter’s registrations. I also cancelled the renter’s insurance policy and found out that when you’re a homeowner, car insurance is cheaper. I also took advantage of the move to re-negotiate our cable package with [del]the evil empire[/del] Comcast so we end up paying almost $100 less with more channels and better Internet.
I got my birthday check from my grandmommy and promptly did two things: Call her to say thanks and paid off my credit card. Have I mentioned how much I hate adulting?
It just monsooned. I’m drinking a Fat Hoppy Ale. Tonight’s dinner is stir fried chicken with baby broccoli and Bok Choy, with ginger garlic sauce.
