Well, as I say, there are very few Hispanics in Australia and it’s just not a language one comes across in the normal course of things. Los Angeles and Los Alamos may be literally plurals, but of course refer to singular objects so I guess feel singular.
Anyway, this is all speculation for the benefit of whoever it was who wondered how I came to be under the misapprehension re nacho/nachos, I don’t actually know the answer.
