I thought I was the only one who remembered that idiocy. French onion soup actually orginated in Belgium.
Anyway, Giraffe (a slut? Cool!) only needs to obtain a copy of Julia’s (not a slut) book and master the art of french onion soup. That will put an to the “canned” silliness.
Peace,
mangeorge, who simply must add his sig:
Where’s my freakin’ sig? The one about being fat
You silly silly person, you misspelled titties in your title. Perhaps a mod can fix that for you.
You leave Posada alone! It’s that catcher’s gear that makes him look that way.
OK, but how about slurred words in Pit titles? If I’m flaming drunk, for example, and type an extra “a” in “asshole,” will I be warned?
Now wait just a damned minute! I would never have called Giraffe ignorant.
The concern here is more about people with the “wrong” onions. French onions are just so wrong.
Only if you scream “They can take our lives, but they can’t take our french.”
No, you’ll be waarned.
That will also prove that you’re a clone.
I’d like to propose a rule against offensive words – such as “Fat” – in usernames.
Huh? Assuming that you are serious * who on this board includes “Fat” in their username???
Meh. And just who would decide which opinions are the wrong ones and which are not?!
:smack:
Oh, yeah, that would be me, again!
Your friendly, neighborhood Global Village Idiot
- “Assuming that you are serious…”
I propose that we put spoiler alerts on BBQ Pit thread titles. That way they can say whatever the hell they want - and we only read (and get offended) at them when we click on them and then it’s our own damn fault.
— a damned Yankee Fattie, and proud of it
If we did this, why would it be restricted to thread titles? We discourage profanity in thread titles out of consideration for people who might be surfing the 'net at work. In theory they might have a problem if someone sees a really offensive thread title on their screens. For the same reason, we ask people not to go nuts with huge-sized text. (I don’t think we act on either of these very often.) I don’t think any of that applies to thread titles with words like ‘fatty’ in them.
So, what, someone’s got a problem with Lola? Whatever Lola wants, Lola gets. You know that.
Yankee fatties are easily offended.
They’re upended easily, too. Fall right over and start to roll into the street when you body check them outside of the deli.
We don’t get offended, we just wait for hunting season.
I would also like to propose that the following words be disallowed from Pit titles: “obese”, “plump”, “bloated”, “zaftig”, “fluffy”, and “Jabba”.
I counter-propose that if the term has been used in the title of a book, movie, play, musical, pamphlet, brochure or YouTube video, it be allowed in every forum and sub-forum.
If only skinny people are allowed to hunt descendants of those who perpetrated the War of Northern Agression, the terrorists have won.
Ever notice how fat Nazis were?
Sargent Schultz anyone?
I know NUT-ZING!
Just a small nitpick: for most of those who know or use the word “Yankee”, it has nothing to do with whether you come from north or south of the Mason-Dixon Line – for them, every one from the United States is a “Yankee”. So you Confederate rebels will just have to live with being known by the Y word.
Well no American would use the term that way. Only others employ the term “Yankee” so broadly. The first time I was called a Yankee by my Costa Rican relatives, I was perplexed. But I’m from Southern California , I thought.
…Unless you’re suggesting most people who know or use the term are not Americans.
