Pros and cons of unlocking using the iPad 6.15 baseband

If you opened this thread, I assume you know what I mean: unlocking a 3g under 4.2 by using the iPad 6.15 baseband.

Since I’m dealing with a phone out of warranty to begin with, what else am I sacrificing? I knwo I won’t be able to do a factory restore, but once you’ve jailbroken and unlocked, would you ever care about that anyway?

So tell me your thoughts.

I should add that I have an iPhone with no plan and am using it just for wifi - Talkatone fills in for occasional phone use.
