Tens of millions? Come now.
You so rarely hear about them immigrating to the US because they can’t get through Mexico.
Here’s the lie:
This line of bullshit has been thrown around again and again as proof of a plot by the left to influence elections and as a justification for heinous voter ID laws. It’s a lie.
ETA: I am willing to admit however that in place of lying you may just be a fucking idiot.
I read/heard a Republican use that phrase. It may be hyperbolic, or they may be ignorant, or they were thinking of the long term, or all of the above.
Well there has been a largeincrease in the Latino population in the US in the last few decades which doesn’t bode well for the Republican party. I also suspect that many of the anti-immigrant fringe view " Latino living in the US" as synonymous with “illegal Mexican”. So from that point of view it sort of makes sense.
The “protestors” are bad people, and this “protest” is essentially a mob itching for a lynching of sorts.
Great, that’s certainly a…speculation. That’s not what I’m asking, however. I will repeat it, in a slightly different phrasing: can anyone show me that this (recruitment of potential immigrant votes by being ‘soft’ on illegal immigration) is a defined, documented and deliberate policy of the Democratic Party?
Or any even a vaguely credible group or pundit or crazy internet blogger?
They can’t admit it… then everyone would know!
Yeah, well I don’t understand how one can effectively carry out a policy that has never been defined as such, but then there are a lot of things In life I don’t understand.
I’m going to be a little unpopular here and defend the Murireta people a little bit, in saying that I’d probably be upset if I lived in Murrieta by hearing that the federal government was planning on dumping hundreds of illegal immigrants on the town without any input by the town government or its residents. It’s not the feds who are going to end up housing or feeding them.
Every so often, it’s comforting (if a bit bemusing) when you write something I can agree with 100%
(And your views on music are also remarkably compatible with my own.)
We now return you to your regularly scheduled Pitting.
What those “patriots” are doing disgusts me. A bunch of fvcking moronic goons.
I just haven’t yet figured out why we don’t just try to annex Mexico ?
Is there an opinion here about a new state?
Hyuk hyuk hyuk.
Look, I’ve been to Mexico and I can see why people would want to leave. But you know, many people right here in the US are also in crappy situations but are also stuck. Sometimes thats just the way it is.
But we dont need is to just allow anyone who wants to to just come across the border for free. Actually I blame their host countries. They basically are dumping their problems on the US. The previous Mexican President Vincent Fox actually said that was his new policy - “you want a job or an education - move to the US” “Oh, and send money back home”. Thats why remittances from Mexicans back to Mexico is that countries second largest source of foreign income behind oil.
Now these Guatemalans are coming in by the tens of thousands and I’m sorry, we have enough problems just taking care of our own. They need to be deported and do it quickly so others are not risking life and limb riding on tops of trains to get here.
Now as to the buses. If they are heading to the airports and we are giving them a one-way ticket home - fine. If they are moving into our home town where they will be dumped off and that said town must now feed, house, educate, and provide medical care for them - hell I’d be down there blocking buses too.
Well, my understanding was that they were being transferred from an immigration facility in Texas to one in Calif., and it will be, in fact, the feds housing and feeding them, in a federal facility.
For how long? From what I’ve read is they are given a summons to appear in co8rt at a later date but are then sent away. And almost 90% dont show for their hearings.
So yes, eventually they are dumped on the community.
No. They’re processed by the federal facility, kept there for a few days, then let out, given a notice to appear, told “You have a deportation hearing on x date”, and given a bus ticket. The US only has one long term family deportation facility. It’s in Pennsylvania, and it’s full.
Fox News a lot, bro?
That factoid should be “90% *do *show up for their hearings”
Fox News Uses Supervised Release Of Undocumented Immigrants To Hype Fears Of Increased Crime
Just for information purposes but it is totally impossible for an illegal immigrant to marry a US citizen inside the USA and gain permanent residency or citizenship from that marriage.* If you don’t have a visa to start with you can’t transition to permanent residency, you’d have to return to your country of origin and apply at the embassy and once it comes out you were in the US illegally you can get a ten year ban.
*Fringe cases like human trafficking or refugee status excepted, but still the marriage is basically incidental.
