Psst...wanna see some kitty pictures?

Someone requested tortoiseshell cats? Meekle
And this lump of catness: Dodget

Oh yeah, they do nothing but work their little paws to the bone all day.

I did have a cat once who was partially useful; one of the two I had at the time used to fish the hairballs out of my drain in the bathtub (I was never sure which one was doing it). And leave them in the tub for me to dispose of, of course, but better in the garbage than clogging the drain, I suppose.

Rather than my usual furry herd I instead offer up my last batch of adorable foster kittens. Poor little things had urinary tract infections when I got them, dirty and matted. A little cleaning up, some antibiotics, lots of food and love and presto! Beautiful fuzzy companions for some lucky people. I love doing this.

I just realized I was vocalizing…something…as I clicked madly on all the beautiful kitty pictures. I’m hugging myself and muttering, “Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness!” like a demented Shirley Temple.

Jeeez…those little kittens rock!

My two adorable Meezers.

What beauties! The lower one reminds me of our Susie.

What a pretty girl! Is she a lynx point? That’s what my Lily is–part lynx point, at least. None of her siblings had any Siamese traits at all.

We don’t know anything about Susie’s background, since she was a starving street cat when we took her in. We call her a lynx point, but she probably is not purebred.

Honey wants to know what the clicky-whirry-flashy thing we keep shoving in her face is.

I inherited this beast from my grandparents about 3 years ago when they moved into a ‘no pets’ gated retirement community. She’s the queen of the house, and all she surveys.

And she really likes ear wax and sweaty pits.

Susie and Honey are both gorgeous!

My girlfriend’s cat, Herman Munster:

OMG, he is the preciousest thing!

Here’s my Luna brat. She’s definitely MY kitty, and is capable of launching herself straight up from the floor and landing on my shoulder. Which is fine when I’m expecting it and can catch her, not so much when she sneaks up behind me and does it and then has to claw madly for purchase. She also likes to rub her face affectionately all over my face when I’m holding her, which I would mind less if she didn’t drool so much. She’s not a very bright kitty.

This is the Oreo brat. I wish I could get a decent picture of her eyes; she’s got beautiful deep golden amber eyes that contrast sharply with her black and white fur. You can kind of see them here, but the camera tends to wash out the color. She’s more my daughter’s cat, but she doesn’t discriminate; she’ll accept head skritches from anyone. Unlike Luna, though, she doesn’t like to be picked up; you have to bend down to pet her.

My four year old daughter has been squealing with delight as she watches mommy pull up dozens of adorable kitty pics.

She’s now trying to convince me to adopt one of them to go with our other two.

Ha.

::rocks and hugs self:: Must not go looking for tortie kitten!

I’m sure this won’t help: http://new.photos.yahoo.com/karlen1956/album/576460762320924608/photo/294928803221096651/1

Awwwww! Little sweetie!
You know, tortie/calicos are the best cats, too. Full of personality and affection, and just the right amount of insane.

Here is my tortie, Isabel. Note the mousies under the entertainment center; a white one behind her tail and a green one by the support.
