Psychic Soccer?

Cool, psychic invisible posters!

(at least I see no other messages but the topic is here!)

Take 2(stupid OP eating server)

Now I’m not the biggest soccer fan on earth, but I usually try to catch a few games during the world cup, and besides I need something to drink during while I wait for the Wings to start the cup finals.
But what is up with the broadcast. I have caught parts of two games, the one on ABC today and the other I think was on Espn, but might have been ABC as well. But on both of them the audio track was waaaay early. They were announcing goal or stop before they guy even took the shot. It was really annoying and took all the drama out of the shot. Is this just some local snafu, or is everybody getting it?

I’ll be psychic. I think I know precisely what the missing post was about.

It seems as though the audio commentary on the tape delay broadcast (World Cup) is about a quarter second ahead of the action. It’s freaky to hear the announcer exclaim, “Gooooaaaaalllll,” while the ball is still sailing through the air.

I remember this from USA '94. I didn’t like the UK TV commentators so I used the radio and watched the TV with the sound down. There was a definite time difference then too.

See. Told ya.
