That’s what I’m doing. Gotta run a 10-miler on Saturday morning. If I’m lucky, it will be in the 30s and I’ll be able
to run outside. More likely, all ten miles will take place on the dreadmill because it’s 12 below zero degrees Fahrenheit right now. (Oh. My. God.)
On the radio just now, they said that it’s supposed to warm up into the 50s (!) by next weekend. That would be so wonderful because that’s when I’m doing the St. Paul Winter Carnival Frozen Half Marathon. If it’s in the 50s, that’s going to be a serious misnomer.
Here’s to misnomers!
Pray for good weather, my friends!
Oh, dear lord.
I talked to a guy last night who just got back from Wisconsin, and he said it was insanely freezing. He did his runs inside on the treadmill. And this is the guy known 'round these parts for running shirtless in all types of weather. He’s the guy who, when he’s running with a singlet on, you KNOW it’s chilly. (at least “chilly” as defined by a native Southern Californian)
If I could send warm weather over, I certainly would - we’ve got plenty of it.
How do you manage to spend that long on a treadmill? Do you watch TV or listen to music? I can’t stand treadmill running, and am bored by about 10 minutes in. Of course, if it was my only option…
Hey scoutygirl!
It’s frikkin’ cold all up in this here state.
I watch TV while I run. My dreadmill is in my garage, which is not heated. Surprisingly, it’s not unbearbly cold in there. A lack of wind really helps. My cooldowns are abbreviated. I cool down WAY too quickly when it’s this cold.
