PT Cruiser thread

I can’t get a straight answer out of Chrysler as to when the PT Cruiser Panel Truck will be available, Chrysler “does not comment on Concept vehicles”, surely someone here is “tuned in” so what’s the “Straight Dope”?.

Don’t wait. Have one built by a custom shop. Fair warning, though; you won’t have the first. I saw a pic of one from a hot rod gathering.

My fear is that I’ll get 35K wrapped up in a used PT "Custom Panel" and then Chrysler releases the Factory version (that is new and comes with a warranty) for less . So for now the situation is as follows:

After the “big move” in 6 or 7 months (I will keep my truck for the move) I will go to Chrysler and see if the Panel Cruiser is available. If not I am off to Subaru to buy a Baja and if the new business takes off it will be “toy car” time (SVT or GT-500 or Kr500 or whatever the wound up, limited edition Mustang is).

The PT Panel is the coolest looking thing I have seen for a while and it suits my needs as a “company car” perfectly, I really hope that the folks at Chrysler get it in gear soon.

Don’t mean to rain on the parade, but I recently went on a business trip and rented a PT Cruiser.

I hated it.

Felt like I was going to tip over every time I turned a corner.

Yeah but how many times did you actually tip over? Probably only a couple.

Better get your Baja quick, because the word is that it’s going away after this next year.

As far as the PT Cruiser variant you are talking about, I haven’t seen or heard anything about real production on that, and I read all the magazines.
