Pubic hair in ads--since when?

Ha! While I think my bio would be interesting to many, I would leave out most of my short term relationships. It was never my goal to accumulate that much experience, and that’s not what I’m about.

I could say the same thing about my own life…

What may be the same ad is being shown on broadcast TV, at least where I live (SF Bay Area). I’ve seen it after 10 pm, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t show it earlier. In the one I saw, the woman wears a bikini bottom while using the razor. Is she naked in the cable version?

The times they are a-changin’.

'Murican is the proper spelling.

Why am I getting the feeling that you need CSI levels of video enhancement to see these ‘pubes’?

He is English. Who is this President you talk of?

Many of these movies have been shown for years, and on basic cable, with the N-word bleeped out… and I was ok with it. They’d also almost always be shown after 7 pm or if it was a Saturday, in the afternoons. Now the exact same movies are shown with all the original N-word language fully restored and at any time of the day.

You can’t tell from the guide of the TV listing if it is the household version or the hate-word racist version… and that bothers me. I’ve enjoyed the edited version for 20 years, why when I want to watch that do I have to watch the other version? Why isn’t the other version only shown at night? Maybe a better question is … why restore the N-words at all?
What base audience are they pandering to…?

The network is called “Screen Pix” btw.

(I know this tangent is not really CS, but . . . )

That’s the question, though, isn’t it? What does it mean to “want to do something for yourself” vs. “because a man demands it” vs. “because I expect men in general want it” vs. “My definition of what feels sexy on me stems directly from societal expectations/norms, which are centered around the male gaze”?

Get used to it. People have a right to have their personal concerns addressed through the marketplace. Im pro pube but if people want to shave it its their business. This is how a potentially uncomfortable condition like incontinence can be handled gracefully:

Just my regular scheduled observation that for a subset of women, being without pubic hair is a religious imperative, not a sex thing.

Huh? What religion requires that?

Oh, noes! Other people like the same things I don’t.

Some people prefer their movies not to be edited. AIUI, Screenpix is a subscription channel for people who prefer classic movies in their original version without edits. To edit out certain words is to deny they were ever used by anyone. Yes, it’s hateful language, but we need to acknowledge it existed and why it’s considered hateful. It was a product of its times and we need to make sure we’ve moved on from its times. I personally have no problem with watching unedited movies, as long as you put the language in its proper historical context. If a certain program causes you distress, I suggest you either change the channel or unsubscribe from that network.

It’s not required, but it is imperative, AIUI, in Islam. It is part of sunnah, the ideal for living.

And not just for women.

Wouldn’t the shaved genitals of a woman look very different from a girl’s? The only girl’s genitals I’ve seen was when I was playing doctor with a girl my age (7?). As I recall, it was just a slit.
Please excuse my ignorance.

Well, as long as it was done to show our evolution as a society past that point… instead of our regression backward toward the hooting, hollering banjo picking family values of keeping “those people” in “their place” through repeated words of hatred, then how can I object?

(Sorry if I hurt your Noes, Mister.)

You have a remote control. Dont like something? Change the channel. If you are paying for it? Cancel.

The regular Japanese porn photos and videos that are made for the Japanese home market blur out the genitals. So you can find a video of a woman bending over with a huge dildo stuffed in her anus but the pubic area below is blurred. The foreign market stuff can be found by searching for “Japanese uncensored” porn. Hair is just fine.

Not to put to fine a point on it… if not identical, then certainly evocative. After all, the appearance of pubic hair is a harbinger of sexual maturity.

On an unrelated note, your picture is spot-on. I could totally hear that line read in Jack Nicholson’s voice. Nice!

Thank you, kind poster.
