Publish the names of the companies that has been offering MDV-tech to Saddam.

The original title was to long:
"UN should publish all the names of the companies that has been offering MDV-tech to Saddam."
Anyhow, some European papers “knows” that Saddam has given the UN-inspectors all the papers also about which firms and from what countries, has offered him nuke-, biological and chemical technology for weapons.

According to these sources, Saddam admits that he has “detailed plans to build this kind of weapons, and that he also give names and documentation on this… From many countries, even companies from USA…”

I take this as a hypothetical question, so far, but my opinion is that every such firm should be investigated by the authorothies in that country, and the names made public, if the allegations can be proven in court.
That is every countrys duty.

Just a side-note:
A week ago, I saw at the Discovery-channel, that when Russia begun to search after their “suitcase-A-bombs”, (I am not so familiar what exactklly was meant by these suitcases, because I did not see the program from tyhe beginning.
The Russian authoroties found 48 of them and 84 was missing.

This as a sidestep of this War against Terrorism, the world should be worried. Just a notice: I have been working as a trader between Russia and EU for 7 years, and can assure You that “everything is not just stories”.

Yes, apparently it is possible that there may be some Russian suitcase bombs missing. A “suitcase” bomb is a small nuclear bomb that is small enough to fit in a suitcase, as opposed to the kind of large bomb that has to be dropped from an airplane.

I’m assuming that by “MDV-tech” you mean “Mass Destruction Weapons”, what we’re calling “WOMD”, for “Weapons Of Mass Destruction”.

The biggest problem with trying to list all the companies that are supplying WOMD technology to Iraq is defining what constitutes “WOMD technology”. Are aluminum tubes “WOMD technology”? How about certain kinds of steel? How about carbon fibers?

And then there’s this…

Oopsie. How embarrassing for us, huh? But wait, there’s more…

How embarrassing for the Gemans, huh?

And then there’s the way that back in the 1990s, American companies like Motorola and Hewlett Packard sold super-computers and other techology, as well as training, to a Chinese company called Huawei, which then apparently turned around and sold it, as a military defense system upgrade, to Iraq.

So, it’s just too complicated. Given the complexity of world trade in the 21 century, there isn’t any way you can get a “master list” of all the Bad Companies who are doing WOMD business with Saddam Hussein.

But if you’re interested, these folks have compiled a database of suppliers. Browse to your heart’s content.
