Today is Pulaski Day in Illinois. However, in New Jersey/New York, Pulaski Day will be celebrated on October 3 this year.
Which celebration originated first, and why couldn’t the other state follow suit on the date?
I grew up in NJ and never once heard of Pulaski Day until I moved to Chicago. Is this new in NJ? Are schools closed like they are here?
