Is doing pull ups on gymnastic rings harmful in anyway?

Not so sure about “harmful”, but it is different than doing pull-ups on a bar:
you will likely (naturally) rotate your wrists inward (thumbs pointing to the rear), so that the rings are perpendicular with your body. So it would be more like doing pull-ups on “pegs”. This will engage different muscles, and other muscles differently.
depending on how fluid you are, you may start to swing. Unless you have someone to stop your swinging, the swing will either help or hinder you.
unlike a bar, the rings can move. So you may use more shoulder muscles to control/compensate.
I’m basically trying to find out if it’s a bad for you to do exercise.
