Pulsating Kitchen Faucet

My kitchen faucet will pulsate about every 5-10 seconds when the water is running at full strength. I have an aerator on it. When I take off the aerator, it flows with no issue. I’ve cleaned out the aerator and it didn’t make a difference. Is it just my water pressure is higher than the aerator can handle?

Try replacing the aerator and see if that helps. If any of the faucets in your house use the same one, you could switch them and see if the pulsating stays with the faucet or the aerator.

Realistically, most faucets have the same threads, so if you have any other aerator on a faucet it should be able to be removed and placed on the problem faucet to see if it recurs.

Kitchen faucet? The valve connecting the hose end sprayer is a good suspect.

What’s the behavior of the system when you use the sprayer?

Note that many installation instructions say to take off the sprayer tip and let the sprayer run for a bit to flush out air and put the tip back on.

If you don’t do that (or air gets back into the valve), guess what happens?
