Pulse racing, red splotches episode?

A couple of weeks ago I had eaten or been exposed to nothing unusual as far as I know, taken no drugs.

All of a sudden my blood pressure and pulse just went crazy, I could feel the blood pulsing in my head so bad it felt like what I imagine a migraine must feel like and I was basically debilitated in pain. It felt like I might have a stroke.

Asked someone to confirm my pulse was high, they said whoa your face. All of my skin on my whole body looked like a cow, irregular red splotches. I was having head pressure so bad I was about to scream and was about to say I need to go to an ER which would have been hard in the middle of the night when it all quickly abated. BP down to normal, skin clear.

I’m guessing it was an allergic reaction, although I’ve never had one like it before or since. I didn’t want to deal with the “so why are you here now?” crap from a doctor I’ve gotten before when describing something that happened but is now.

I’ve been trying to get an allergy test done and I’ll mention it.

I AM not looking for a diagnosis, just wondering what it could have been. That way I have something to mention as a possibility, otherwise doctors often just shrug and go who knows.

EDIT:I had recently recovered from an illness with a rash, but the rash was different(pinpoint) and had long dissipated when this happened.

were you drinking at all (even just one?) what you describe sounds a little like alcohol flush reaction.
