Punkin Chunkin and other events

So this year’s Punkin Chunkin is November 5-7, 2010.
I think that would be a really cool thing to do. Well I think that TYPE of thing looks like a fun weekend getaway.

My question is this: what other off-the-wall events (preferably with links) do you fellow dopers know about?
I’ll start with one that’s familiar to me since I was a young boy…
The Rattlesnake Roundup is an annual rattlesnake hunt in Okeene Oklahoma. It’s going to be held this year 4/30-5/2.

There is another Punkin Chunkin near Morton, IL, each year, where Libby’s Libby’s Libby’s packs its pumpkin for your pies pies pies. I don’t know if they aspire to World Championship status.
