Too cute for words!

Is that cat milking the puppies?

Does that even work?

Why not, I drink cow milk. I can see a capacity problem shortly though if she is.

No, she’s nursing them.

Where’s her rubber gloves then?

Yes, but humans don’t even switch to formula until after they’re several (time units) old. I’d be worried that the puppies wouldn’t be getting the right nutrients.

That video is one giant awwww. But both pets need to be spayed, fer cryin’ out loud.

That’s a good point. This cite states that the first two to four weeks of mothers milk are important for immunological purposes. Hmmm.

Apparently, animals in the wild can often be found “surrogate nursing”.

The only real concern seems to be the one brought up by Struan. . .

:dubious: Some humans don’t switch to formula. :dubious:

and some humans are started on formula from day one.

So they are breastfed…forever ???

Poor mom.

My older two were never switched to formula. I nursed them exclusively at first, then gradually introduced solids, water, and juices. As they got older, they also had a limited amount of other liquids like tea and soft drinks, and after their first birthday, I gave them cow’s milk. But they never had formula, unless you count the fact that my son had a syringeful twice before he left the hospital (to raise his blood sugar, he was a high-birthweight baby).

I did try to get my son to take formula a few times after that (like when we were dining out), but he wouldn’t have it, the little turkey!

But at least the puppy won’t get cat flu
