I am loving this show. The colors, the narration and the characters. Even the one off characters are fun. Jeanine with the eating disorder was fun.
I loved the musical number and the general use of the music. Kristin Chenoweth has a nice voice, I am looking forward to a future number by Ellen Green.
I liked the Dandy Lion SX, it was great. At least until the Flaming laxatives.
Yeah, I was pretty happy with this episode. I really liked the pilot but you get a much better sense where the show is headed with the second episode.
I pretty much had the case figured out in the first five minutes, but with all of the other aspects to the show (quality of the characters, music, cinematography - which should be an emmy), I didn’t much care which for me is the sign of a good television show.
I didn’t really watch Wonderfalls, so I guess I don’t have that fear. The only show I really sorrowed over for an early demise was Police Squad. I was sad “Dead Like Me” died so swiftly, which is closely tied to the creators of “Wonderfalls” and “Pushing Daisies”. “Dead Like Me” last 2 seasons. Hopefully this shows does as well.
What was funny to me was that during the first episode I thought that they would need one of those giant full body condoms like in The Naked Gun and in this episode they were pretty much wrapped in plastic.
The scene where they woke up to find themselves in the plastic bags made me a little clautrophobic.
Tponight is the first time I’ve watched it and I’m confused about some things, mostly the rules of his trick works.
Why does he he only bring them back for one minute? What happens after one minute?
Also, when they were showing that bit with the frogs when he was a kid, I though they were saying that whatever he brings back to life will die again in like a week if he doesn’t toch them again, so why hasn’t that chick that hangs around with him died again yet?
If they are still alive after one minute, something else dies. For a human, another human dies. He brought his dog back to life and it is now a very healthy 23 year old dog. So, it bring up the question of how long Chuck* will live.
If whatever he brings back to life isn’t touched by him again within a minute, something else in the direct vicinity will take it’s place and die. Also, if he never touches whatever he brings back to life they stay alive apparently indefinitely. Exhibit number one being the dog. He brought his dog back to life as a child and has stayed alive up until this point which is seemingly well beyond a normal dogs lifespan.
Also one of the rules appears to be that if he doesn’t kill whatever he brings back to life within the minute, the life that takes it’s place appears to be of similar value (For lack of a better word). For instance, a bunch of birds as opposed to fellow students appear to have taken the frogs place in last nights episode.
Yes, the director of the funeral home she was being kept in, who was conveniently a terrible man. Also, Ned brought back his mother and in doing so killed Chuck’s father (this was when he was a kid, and before he figured out the rules). He later deanimated his mother as well.
Ok, got it. Thanks for the help. I found the show kind of original and whimsical but I was a little behind on some things. I think I’ll stay with it for a while. The visual style reminded me a lot of Tim Burton, especially his Big Fish movie.
