They may or may not be immortal, but they could still be eaten, run over by cars or otherwise mangled.
Jim
Hmm … I wonder what would happen if he touched something, let it live and then it died by some means other than him touching it again, could he bring it back to life again or is the second touch permanent death no matter what?
There has been nothing presented in-canon that indicates that if an entity revived by The Pie-Maker is consumed by another entity that the original entity will die.
Goddamn immortal goddamn frogs.
I started out being really disappointed by this episode and ended up liking it a lot. One thing that REALLY irks me (note that this was near the beginning of the episode) is how they have one minute and only one minute to do something that is both how they make money AND potentially extremely important to society (catch murderers), AND presumably extremely important to the deceased, and they waste it with chit-chat.
But I like basically everything else about the show.
Note that two of the biggest complaints last week were “he should just wear gloves!” and “why isn’t his dog dead?”. This week, he DID wear gloves (well, kind of), and they made it more clear that the dog knows not to touch him, somehow. A show that is aware of its own weaknesses and attempts to address them? Madness!
They didn’t waste it with chit-chat. Chuck was wasting it, much to Emerson’s dismay.
That cleavage? More than willing, downright encouraging? Nope, the boy’s obviously [del]gay[/del], er, “lacking in nervous energy,” as my wife puts it.
There can be only one.
You owe me a new monitor.
Thank you. It’s on its way.
I think it’s like Amelie, the colours, the narration, the whimsicla charm, it’s all in that kind of vibe.
Personally, I loved Wonderfalls and own the DVD, so I’m hoping this lasts a while.
She wastes it most egregiously. But honestly, they could immediately dive into “who killed you?”, so that they have time for follow up questions, which even the Piemaker and PI don’t seem inclined to do.
But, honestly, that’s not really the point of the show. It’s not “if you had this power and chose this way to make money, how should you really act?”, it’s “here are whimsical fairy tales”.
Also, Chuck is coming to it from a different point of view than Ned and Emerson. She doesn’t particularly agree with their way of making money. As a formerly dead person herself, she thinks it’s more important to find out if the dead person has any unfinished business, and doesn’t necessarly think that that includes finding out who killed them.
I love this show. I watched the second ep on TV, then watched the first one last night, which helped make a lot of sense of the second one, frankly! I love the imagery and colours; the scene in the pilot where Chuck and Ned are playing monsters and conquering the toy/play-doh city… I was squealing with delight! It was just so magical!
Definitely a new favourite, I can’t wait to see where they go with it!
This is such a great show…it’s one of the few truly original shows I’ve seen in a long, long time. I just hope enough people watch it to keep it around for a while!
