Put a Cork in me

Hmmm, put me down as a definite maybe, depending on dates etc.

This shows my American ignorance, but I find it amusing that I didn’t know there are “Southern” accents in Ireland. Excuse me for my Texan mentality.

I will now return you to your normally scheduled thread…

I cross the border at least twice a month. Not only are there no soldiers, you’d be hard pressed to tell exactly where the border is. I’ve seen borders between U.S. states that were more clearly marked.

As for them assuming you’re smuggling guns because you’re Irish, that only happens in Humberside, England.

Ignore Coldie, Yojimbo, Twisty, and all the others. Try Beamish Stout when you’re in Cork.

Bring about 3 jumpers (sweaters) each a little bigger than the other one and wear all 3. Cork will be cold and wet in January so spend most of your time in nice warm pubs.

You have to visit “The Long Valley” and have a Pizza in the resturant just down from it. I can’t remember the street.

Can anyone remember the name of the new pub by the market i think it’s “Bodegas”.

You’ll have a good time.

Now there’s advice to live by.

Ruadh, TwistofFate, yojimbo – if we can make it work, first round (at least) is on me.

Still no travel dates on my end, but I thought I would let this float to the top again just to keep it in the gestalt.

Well, a travel date at least. In the shameless hope of promoting renewed interests I have started another thread to see who wants to down a few pints with me on Saturday, 13 January 2001.
