Why is it that when you fold your hands together you always have the same thumb on the top? When I lock my hands together, I always have the right thumb on top, but when I do it the other way and put my left thumb on top it feels really weird.
Does it have to do with being right handed or left handed?
It has something to do with… umm, genetics, I think. If you take a group of people (like an eager grade 8 class), and all ask them to do it, several will have their left on top while others will have their right. I don’t think it has to do with right/left-handedness, however.
It’s the same kind of thing that makes you cross your arms a certain way. I think.
I just rechecked my hands. I put the left thumb on top. I guess I have just figured out which hand is right and which hand is left.
I guess it is kinda like being the driver of a car for years, then needing to sit in the passenger seat for the first time and being freaked out by the seat belt going the other way.
Sit there with the uncomfortable thumb on top for 5 minutes while watching TV or doing something else, then switch.
