I did a couple of searches and don’t think this has been covered recently…
Is there an easy way to add chapter markers to Audible.com content? When I download most audiobooks, they come as gigantic audio files with few if any breaks.
If I burn the files to CDs, I have to bridge them across many CD’s, with each CD typically containing a single track that’s, say, 70 minutes long. Not very conducive to starting and stopping the listening. If I use my iPod Shuffle, it’s marginally better, since I can stop and start again. But if I want to switch and listen to music, I am back at the beginning of a many hours long audible file.
Given that neither most CD players nor the iPod shuffle has a very usable fast forward feature, I find this to be incredibly incovenient. I realize that I could burn CDs and then re-rip them, then use a 3rd party app to break the books into chapter sized files, but that seems ridiculously convoluted.
Why doesn’t audible just package the books so there are reasonably sized chunks of content? Since they don’t is there an easy way for me to do this myself?
I am using a Mac with OSX (10.3.x) and iTunes 6.
Thanks!
