I’ve heard of this slumber party trick, but never tried it. Does it really make a person urinate?
Experiments like this are best conducted on non-human subjects first… preferably ones with relatively small bladders, if for no other reason than reducing cleanup time. If you don’t happen to have a hamster handy, then at least put down a rubber sheet before you make the bed for your slumber party guest guinea pig. A goodly amount of some diuretic beverage (beer) provided to your subject before bedtime will likely enhance the effect of your experiment. It’s generally considered unsporting to choose victims… uh… subjects… with a prior history of bladder-control ineptitude. That was not a hint.

Personally, I’ve never tried it and have only met those who claim it works, not those who’ve actually succeeded in embarrassing their unwitting and unconscious ‘friends’.

We tried once in the fifth grade. It didn’t work, so we poured the water on the kid’s crotch and then told him he wet the bed.
Some friends tried some of the UL type stuff many moons ago. There was nothing we could do to get a sea gull to eat an alka seltzer, and the warm water thing was also a failure - but it was fun trying.

The trick supposedly is…
You feed a seagull an alkaseltzer… because gulls will eat anything… the little tablet then starts to effervesce once in the gull’s stomach… supposedly this causes the stomach to expand beyond what the gull can handle and the stomach explodes… and the gull plummets from the sky like a rock.
do gulls lack the ability to burp?
I would presume that even gulls can burp…

Even if they can’t, they are smart enough to know the difference between food and a dirty trick - did not matter how much bread we molded around the tablet.
