Q about Dreams...sorta

Anybody here know about dreams or have one of those dream books? For the last few months I keep waking myself up in the middle of the night and the very first thing that I think of is the word “Algorithm”. I know it is a mathematical thing, but I have no idea why this would be happening. Any ideas? Thanks.

Microsoft is trying to update your brain. You probably didn’t notice the message that instructed you not to wake up until the download completes. They will keep trying to install the update until you manage to sleep through the process.

Darn, shoulda got a Mac.

What is the dream about that leads up to that? What does ‘Algorithm’ mean in the context of your life?

Something repeating is indicative to a life direction choice, something you should do.

Since I doubt that this question can be answered factually, I’m going to move this to IMHO.

There are a bunch of different ones. One is my house is getting attacked from the front and back by robbers. Another is I am the only one doing a building sweep in Abu Ghraib Iraq. The one last night was was a tsunami hit the east coast and the last we heard on the news was it hit Bedford PA and was heading our way.

And every single time, the very second my eyes pop open the word Algorithm comes flying out of my mouth. I don’t even know what that is, but I somehow know the word.

There is a common theme of those dreams, what I got for Algorrithm ‘is a set of rules for solving a problem in a finite number of steps’.

It may be that all those dreams are really the same thing, representing a common issue or problem or obstical. very possibly a repeating pattern of your life, for instance a pattern of failed relationships, but it could be any repeating negative pattern.

Your job it to recognize that the pattern is the same and there is a common solution for all.

That’s what I got on the info you provided.

Thank you.

Algorithm is the only thing Tipper ever danced to.

How would that happen if he didn’t know what the definition of algorithm was?

Your home (your very life) being attacked from all sides by robbers is pretty straight forward. The next one is about going out to eliminate dangers before they reach you. The third is about overwhelming dangers coming your way and feeling helpless against them.

So take a look at what is going on in your life. Chances are you’re feeling beset by dangers, trying to protect yourself, and feeling rather helpless.

This sounds like you should stop watching the news before you go to bed.

From what I understand, the key to interpreting dreams is how they make you feel. You should start by trying to identify the main thing you thought or felt during the dreams, and see where that leads you.

Also, the “awake” definition of algorithm isn’t necessarily the same as your “asleep” definition. In other words, your dream-mind may have assigned it’s own definition. Again, the key is to think about how you felt when you were saying that word.

It’s really irrelevant as the OP did not know the meaning of the dreams either. you may want to consider it as the subconscious trying to help out the conscious. He may have heard what a algorithm is at one point but forgot, though sub-consciously remembers, and he now needs that to overcome something.

I personally see it as a spiritual message, which can use terms we don’t know, terms we never heard.

But either way it points a direction, in this case posting here, and perhaps elsewhere, to explore this issue.

I only really watch the news in the morning before work. My house was almost robbed, but my dog scared the person away before anything took place (we were in bed). I was in Abu Ghraib Iraq 2 years ago doing building sweeps, but certainly not alone. But the tsunami thing baffles me.

My dream last night was a priest that took a cross necklace off of me and unscrewed it, and started putting some kind of oil on my forehead then my wife, then my best friends. After that my nephew was in some kind of trouble and we were trying so hard to find him, we were on our way to my wife’s aunts parents house just up the street from us, (which doesn’t exist) when my wife slammed on the brakes while gasping in horror. Her gasp matched the sound of the tires screeching on the road when I woke up sitting in the middle of my bed panting like a over heated dog. And once again that word came out of my mouth almost like I had no control.

Last nights dream seems very unorganized, and was by far the scariest. I made an appointment with the VA to talk to somebody there about it, cause it only seems to be getting worse.

That is a good idea. PTSB gets worse as time goes by without addressing it. And dreams don’t have to have a meaning. Except dreams about cigars. Those always mean the same thing.

To me your latest dream means you won. You have been given assurance by God (basically an all powerful spiritual being) that you are a extremely loved child. Don’t worry about ‘priests’, it’s just Love has come for you and will look after you.
