Q about putting an mp3 on a website for ppl to dl

Ok, I have put up a couple short mp3s on my website for ppl to dl.

A few people have said it has worked for them but most say it does not.

The link to the specific page is here. Could anyone look at the source or anything else to try to help me with this?

thanks,
Clay

Oh, and could you just chime in if it works for you?

it works for me, and quicktime seems to play it

The MP3 works, but the wav does not. I do not know why.

      • Both work for me.

Neither worked for me.

Both work for me too.

they both work for me

IE6 WinXP

MP3 was cool.

WAV - direct click - gets the following error from Media Player :
The server is refusing to fulfill the requested operations

WAV - Right Click . Save Target As get the following error:
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later.

(I didn’t).

clayton_e, you have uploaded the files correctly and the html is fine. The problems some people are having are most likely due to their browsers and their plugins. E.g., Caught@Work has Media Player configured to play sound files from web sites and since they are not streamed, it loses its (limited) cool. One possible problem is that the default MIME spec. from the web server is not being set right and different browsers handle the MIME mis-info differently. (Netscape tries to do things “the right way” which is of course exactly the wrong way.) The only fix for the latter involves settings of the web server which you probably cannot get fixed.

Is there a specific setting or browser that seems to work well?
