Just wondering…can a patient taking a muscle relaxer do PT exercises, or is it recommended to stop the muscle relaxer? Does a muscle relaxer have any effect on the effectiveness of such exercises and/or the patients’ ability to do such exercises?

I’m not in the field, but just finished a three week course of PT. FWIW, my therapist said that analgesics were okay but discouraged me from taking muscle relaxers during exercises.
