See, that’s kind of my point, there, with Sanders: if you’re going to ask whether some folks would hesitate to vote for a gay man, note that he might be running against — gasp! — a woman. Or something.
I’m surprised no-one has mentioned New Hampshire governor Chris Sununu, who will be under 60 for the next three presidential elections. He’s considering making a run in 2024, but he’s a bit too normal to advance in the primaries.
Yeah, Buttigieg has many fine qualities, but he should at least run for the House or something before going for the Presidency. And if he can’t even win in his House district, then he certainly can’t win the Presidency.
And let’s face it-that last name is gonna be a hurdle.

(In all sincerity, I think Buttigieg would make a fine president; I believe our best presidents have had a great deal of native intelligence, and Pete has that in spades)
Except the one about being Jewish. I don’t know if that would fly with even some solidly Democratic voters.
I’d like to see Katie become a Senator first. Newsom won’t put her in to possibly replace Feinstein because he promised a a woman of color for that (or did he specify Black?) but she could get there some day.
