I just scanned through the first episode and my reaction was that it had a very powerful feeling throughout the entire show. I thought it was really well done.
Thinking of what happened as a result of 9/11 and the attacks almost brought me to tears once again.
The one thing that has always bothered me is that I think most people in the Western world believe the reason we have not suffered another major attack like the ones on 9/11 is due to the diligence and hard work of agencies like the FBI and CIA and the airport security people.
But, I remember the day after 911 thinking the reason that kind of attack would never happen again was not because our agencies (especially the airport security people) were going to do an excellent job (which I’m sure they are trying to do). But … the reason was that people who wanted to pull that kind of shit knew they could never get away with that again. If they ever tried something like that again, the other passengers on the plane would know what was happening and they would stop the attack just like the people who rushed the terrorists on the United 93 flight.
It was all so sad, you might think that reliving the events of 911 and other attacks would by now cause people to feel bored but that was certainly not my reaction. I felt like crying after reliving those events again.
Even if I did feel that those events were, by now, boring, I could not walk way from this show. It was just too sad to be considered boring or trite. At least, that was not my reaction. But, I just could not stand watching it all over again. I don’t know how anyone can do that.
I have never seen a thread about a TV show drop off to Page 2 that quickly before.
This show is actually bad enough to be fun to watch.
I’m guessing that no one has seen episode 3 yet because it just aired and there seems to be very little interest in this show.
The show is so bad that is understandable.
But if you are looking for a special kind of fun, give this turkey another chance. So many bad production and direction decisions are evident that it is really a lot of fun to watch.
I got quite a few good LOLs tonight and I just want to recommend this to people who may have switched off this show because it is bad.
It’s true that it is bad. But it is SO VERY BAD that it’s really worth watching.
I watched it last night. The insistence on giving most of the regulars new secrets to keep is getting pretty annoying. It may have been written to be a drinking game.
I watched it earlier this morning. Between pre-season basketball, the baseball playoffs, and Game 4 of the WNBA Finals, last night’s episode was a DVR casualty. Agree that the “EVERYBODY HAZ SECRETZ~!” subplot is beginning to grate a little.
There’s no arguing with you on that point. But consider how it must feel to be one of those many actors who must feel they have finally “made it” in Hollywood.
They likely have no idea just what a turkey this show is. Either that, or they will willfully block that fact out and live their fantasy of being a star in Hollywood.
I feel bad for them, really. It will be very difficult for these people to bounce back and try to get a part in a good show. I would imagine that many of them will spend many years wondering what hit them and why no one is calling them with any parts in future TV shows.
It’s sad because many of these actors are really quite good and deserve to be working and prospering in Hollywood. Besides, some of the ladies are really HOT!
Well, Josh Hopkins, Aunjanue Ellis, and Priyanka Chopra have all been around a while. The others probably won’t see their careers ruined by a one-season show.
Well, as of tonight’s episode, I officially don’t know what to think even more than I already didn’t know what to think.
I kind of expected Liam O’Connor was framing Parrish, but this episode seems to argue against that, with Alex being shown as having even more a relationship with him and Miranda. Also they are trying to jerk us around more with Simon Asher’s story. Simon is getting a lot of minutes, so maybe he is the antagonist, but it has not seemed that way for the last few weeks.
Also, Oded Fehr looks different and kind of scary clean-shaven. I might not have recognized him if I hadn’t seen his name in the opening credits.
I’m kind of curious about Miranda’s hair going from that thing that looked like a little hat in the first episode, to big, bushy half-fro in subsequent episodes. I initially thought it was a different character and wondered what happened to the first lady.
Of course, my confusion is partly attributable to the size of the cast - with so many characters, it often takes me several episodes before I can identify each character by name. For example, even binge-watching the first eight episodes online, it took me until episode 8 to finally catch Natalie’s name. And that was mainly because I was specifically trying to catch it — I wanted to figure out the name of the actress because she looks crazy-familiar. (As in, “she looks like somebody I knew”, wondering if a local girl had made good. Answer: Nope, and it turns out I’ve never seen any of the other things Anabelle Acosta has been in.)
I very very rarely watch first run TV (I’ve Netflixed several good series after the fact, like The Wire, The Sopranos, Breaking Bad, etc.). However, I watched the whole season of **Quantico **in real time b/c it got a really good preview write-up in The Washington Post.
I’ve never heard of Gray’s Anatomy, so I can’t comment on how different or similar it was to that. All season long I was interested enough to keep watching to see “whodunnit.” The show was pitched as a 1-season story arc. I thought after the final episode I would be done. But NO. There seems to be more coming next year.
We did get to find out which of the recruits was involved and (more or less) who did what. Which I appreciate. But I have no interest in watching an FBI soap opera where, I don’t know, they get into adventures every week? When I’m done with a mystery, and the mystery is solved, I don’t need to keep going, or following further escapades. Over should be over.
