Am I the only one sensing an incredible amount of “trying to hold himself together while having an incredibly un-pc homophobic experience” Kevin Costner cowering in the far reaches of his chair away from the Fab Five?
It was almost hysterical – he blushed, he laughed nervously, he sat, legs crossed away from the fab five as far as he could get in his chair – you could have sat another KC next to him in that chair he was so far from it.
I’m amazed at that kind of reaction from anyone in Hollywood these days. I live in the mid-west, I’m straight, but I had kind of thought we’d gotten past most issues like that.
Just amazing.
I wanted to name this thread: Queer Eye for that Costner Guy, but thought better of it
Coster is a talented actor in the right movie(s) but despite his Hollywood aspirations at heart, and via his background, he is a somewhat swaggering, California high school jock from a Baptist, working class background. His curled up reaction to the Queer Eye guys in this context is not surprising.
I thought the way Costner acted was pretty sad. Even if you are the most homophobic guy in the world and you think that all gay guys are all going straight to hell, there’s no need to be curled up all the way on the other side of your chair. It’s not like they are going to give you the “gayness” or something.
I think we should all have a boycott against Costner’s movies so he has box-office flop after box-office flop. Oh, wait…
I fell asleep early Friday and missed most of the show. I saw a little of the stage but I don’t know if it was the real stage or something put up for the musical guest, and I saw the drinks cart and the made over drinks cart pusher, both of which were very nice. I would vote to keep the drinks cart pusher, although I’d rather they’d put him back in the costume he wore for his role in Superman.
