Do reliable stats exist for either of these: How many kids were orphaned by the attacks? How many same-sex partners were left behind?

I can guess that many married couples died, though how many kids were orphaned is undeterminable. (very tedious task I’m yet to undertake).
I don’t remember the source, but I remember reading a breakdown of the victims about a month or two after the event. One of the “bullet points” of the breakdown was that no children lost both parents in the WTC.
(N.B. I don’t know about the planes. It’s entirely possible that some entire families were on board the planes).

It’s also possible that some of those killed were single parents, whose children would therefore have been orphaned.
Well, there was at least one gay couple with their adoptod son that was on one of the planes, and they were all killed.
