Question about a Norman Blake song

I heard a song last year that was on a CD of Norman Blake, the singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist who does old-timey country, blues, etc. The first verse went something like:

I’m going down, that lonesome road
To meet my fate, or destiny
I hate to leave, you on your own
I’m coming home, but I don’t know when

I’ve been unsuccessful finding the name of this song. Googling generates lots of false positives due to the ubiquitous song “Lonesome Road Blues” (“Im going down that road feeling sad, …”)

Anyone familiar enough with Norman Blake to help out?

There’s a Bill Monroe song called “I’m Coming Back But I Don’t Know When” with these lyrics. I like Norman Blake, but don’t know his version.

Is this it?

This says the song appears on a Blake collaboration with Tony Rice from 1987.

That is the Monroe song, although it ws written by Bill’s brother Charlie.

That’s the one!

Thanks to you both.
