Question about a thread

I’m assuming this thread was phrased in a way that was offensive to whoever closed it.

What I would like to know is:

  1. If whoever closed it knew the answer to the question, and

  2. Their comment “TSTL” was a reflection of what they did know or what they didn’t know.

To phrase my question in a less offensive way:
Does the same yeast that causes yeast infections also cause bread to rise?

I closed the thread. I don’t know the answer to the (poorly worded) question. I was commenting on how poorly written(and sensational) the question was.

If you wish to start it out again in GQ, that’ll be fine. Just try to phrase it a bit better.

no

What is TSTL ? and why do I have to search for it and find these choices:

Thus Saith The Lord

TSTL Too Stupid To Live
TSTL To Say the Least
TSTL Thread Safe Template Library
TSTL Thus Saith the Lord
TSTL The Sky’s the Limit (christian youth camp)
TSTL Transmission Systems Test Lab
TSTL Turbine Surface Technologies Limited (UK)

Is it too much to ask, when you are locking after a parting shot, that at least the shot be in English and not Twitter? For those adults in the audience.

It’s “Too Stupid To Live”.

And yes, I agree. A mod’s closing should cite rules or guidelines, and not be a personal last word.

Hasn’t it been determined that only old people Twitter… people, like, over thirty.

I think TSTL was a pretty good, rules/guidelines based message for a thread closure.

Never said it wasn’t.

Yes–Too Stupid to Live. I believe Lynn used it first on this Board(that I remember). It appears on Google Groups around 2002, well before twitter.

I used it as a reason to ban someone. He was a troll, and trolled by making extremely stupid statements, as I recall. He claimed to be 2 Sexy 4 My Computer, or some such thing. I banned him, and gave him a custom title that said either “2Stupid2Live” or “Too Stupid To Live”, I don’t remember which. I also don’t remember when, exactly, I did this banning. I was never active in Google Groups, and I’ve never Twittered at all.

I still have the technical ability to change a member’s title to a custom title. However, I no longer have permission to do so. So please don’t ask me to do such a thing.
