Question about adjusting an iPod Touch

Hi Gang -
Is there an app or a way to adjust the balance on an iPod Touch? I have some hearing loss in one ear and everything sounds louder in the other ear when I listen to music. I find it annoying. In the “old days” there was always a balance knob on music devices (sigh). Any help would be appreciated.

Try Settings|General|Accessibility.

I don’t know about yours, but my iPod Touch does not have an Accessibility tab. Are you possibly confusing the iPod with the iPhone?

There is no balance control on iPod at this time, AFAIK. Your options are (a) an in-line balancer or (b) balance your MP3 files to compensate.

This device might work: http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HZR-62-Stereo-Volume-Control/dp/B000H0K8VY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1275937961&sr=8-1

My iPod Touch has a Settings|General|Accessibility entry, but the only option I see there relating to balance is a “Mono” option.

Yeah, I haven’ seen a balance control* in decades.
I just press the earbud in tighter on my “bad” ear.

  • … but my Zune has Treble and Bass knobs (just kidding – on both fronts).

Might be a bit troublesome, but does iTunes have a balance option? If you made changes in iTunes, they might be carried over to your iPod.
