Just curious if he had a history of mod warnings, and it was the swearing that tipped the balance, or if he was banned entirely for using words off of Ed’s List of Forbidden Words.
I realize that he broke that rule repeatedly, and, likely, deliberately. But this would appear to be the first time a poster who would otherwise have been in good standing was kicked off the board because of Ed’s ill-considered rules changes. He doesn’t seem to have been in much trouble, except as a direct result of this rule change. I can’t see how the board has been improved by his removal, so if a mod would like to speak to that, as well, I’d be appreciative.
Right, I agree that Baldwin was angling for a banning, but that’s not quite what I’m asking about. Prior to Ed’s new rule, did he have a history of mod trouble? It seems (from my limited vantage point as a non-mod) that he was chiefly pissed off about the rule change, and decided to break the rule until he was banned. If the rule hadn’t been implemented, I don’t think he would have gone looking for some other rule to break until you booted him. His banning seems to be purely an extension of the new rule being implemented. I’m curious if my impression of that is correct, or if he’d been a general troublemaker for a while, and just happened to get his ticket punched over this particular rule.
He had previous warnings for personal insults outside the Pit. But he was suspended after defying Skipmagic’s instructions, which involved an established rule, and then lying about it. If anything, this is an extension of that. He wouldn’t have been banned if he hadn’t already been suspended. On the other hand, if you are asking if his behavior over the last few months resulted in his suspension and banning, the answer is yes.
