Question about brothels (Perhaps TMI?)

I once had a boyfriend who enjoyed giving me “oral pleasure” while I was on the rag - he looked forward to it. As I wasn’t squicked by his kink we were both happy. I doubt he is the only man on the planet either not bothered by sex with a bleeding woman, or kinky for sex with a bleeding woman, I don’t see where a prostitute would necessarily have to take a week off. Along with all the other options mentioned, there is a sub-set of the population that will be happy to use her services during that time of the month.

I knew a woman who had VERY irregular cycles. The group she started hanging out with then started getting irregular cycles that corresponded to hers, and they all complained. She ended up being prescribed birth control pills specifically to regularlize her cycles. After that, sge and everyone else were regular.
1.) This isn;'t a FOAF story - I know the woman and her friends directly.

2.) The fact that all the women originally had regular cycles, then synched up with someone with IRREGULAR cycles pretty much proves to me that it’s not an observational error about slightly out-of-phase cycles of different length lining up for a brief period.

This also suggests that DanBlather’s suggestion about using BC to “break up” the cycles would probably work – those pills seem to be more effective than pheromones or whatever biological cue is being broadcast at setting the cycles.

Just wondering why One particular woman would override all the other women’s cycles? Was she an Alpha female of some kind?

That’s exactly the joke I made about it.
I don’t know why. But when she went on the Pill to regularize her cycle, everyone else’s did, too.

One of my girlfriends spent several years romatically attached to and living with another woman - so they were pretty much as close as could be. No cycle synchronization.

So it MAY BE that some women are prone to synchronization, but some women are not. In a live in brothel with many women, you’d likely have some of each kind.

It doesn’t make too much sense that you’d have complete cycle synchronization or you’d see more anthropolical evidence of it it tribes that isolate menstrating women - to the best of my knowledge (but I’m no anthropoligist) you don’t.

Somewhat germain to the topic, I breed dogs, and they tend to sync with each other, which is much more of a feat when you only cycle every 6 months. It seems to be widely accepted as true where dogs are concerned (I refer to it as “the dorm room effect”) and many of my breeding reference books discuss it as fact. Most breeders end up with litters at roughly the same time if they have more than one bitch. It comes in quite handy if one of the dams has trouble nursing, too big of a litter to handle alone, or otherwise poor mothering skills, actually. I wonder if this is why it happens (in the cases where it does)? If you cycle together, you are more likely to give birth together, and then you have a back up if your milk never comes in? Definitely would seem to be an evolutionary advantage…

For more non-scientific acedotes, it has generally happened to me with my sisters (I am one of 4 girls) as well as female roommates in the past, so long as no one was on the pill or other treatments that interfered.
