Question about communist mom in The Red Violin

I saw this movie for the first time yesterday and really liked it. A lot of questions were addressed on other message boards, but I haven’t seen this one. What happened to the communist leader after she gave the violin to the old man? The film never really follows up on this. Did she flee? Did she go back to her apartment and continue to be a leader in the communist party? What happened when she got back to her apartment, and how would she explain her absence and the violin playing on the record player?

Exactly how much did little Ming tell? So many questions. On another note, I thought the actor who played Pope did a superb job, but the Prince was extremely creepy. When I saw him I wanted to jump out of my skin!

Any thoughts?
