This has happened over the past two weeks or so. One day I noticed a small radiator leak on the car. Removed the radiator, checked it out, and decided it was time to buy a new one. I bought one on Ebay, I imagine it was a cheap knockoff… Anyway it arrived and it has a funky look to it, with some bent stuff on the fins etc. Had to go and buy another one in town that curiously came out cheaper. I took photos of the damage on the ebay one, sent them to the seller, who asked me to send it back for inspection, shipping paid by seller. Finally this morning I received a full refund, including shipping.
How would you vote, Positive, Negative or Neutral?
My comment would be “Seller sent defective radiator and issued refund” or something to that effect
If the item is clearly and objectively different from the way it was described in the listing, I’d still make it a neutral feedback, since the seller did refund all costs including return shipping.
If it could be shipping damage, or if the listing was ambiguous enough to allow for what you received, that should be a positive feedback.
One more thing: I found, in my opinion, the shipping package to be impeccable. A typical thin rectangular radiator box more or less mimicking the dimensions of the radiator with nice soft styrofoam support on all corners. The seller intimated that it was probably poorly handled by FedEx, not sure if that was possible… although, you never know. If you look at the photos, to me it looks like a factory defect. It’s also very possible that the seller received the boxes as is, does not open every box to inspect and ships them out without checking. I’ll post here a link to photos of the weirdness i found on removing the radiator from the box. I see colored lines in the uploaded photos, disregard them, they are mirages
Sounds like the seller was fantastic. They paid return shipping and refunded 100% of the purchase price. You’re only out your time at this point.
I’d give them the benefit of the doubt and say that damage is from Fedex. Which to be honest, it probably is. Though it’s possible that the damage was from the previous shipment to the seller and they just didn’t check before sending it along to you.
It turned out all right, but it was still an annoyance and bothered you enough that you posted about it here so it wasn’t exactly a positive buying experience. I would leave a positive with explanatory wording to the effect of, “Part didn’t fit correctly, but seller handled refund well” or something like that, and then give them a four for their item description star.
Because of the refund including shipping I would still go positive and maybe make some displeasure known in the wording as it seems the OP did. If the description was bad I would zing him more in the "how many stars’ part of the equation than the primary feedback. And I think this may be more people than just me; as I read feedback and then check the stars/average I have sometimes noticed things to make me wary.
