Alright, I get why agent Sands wants to kill the President and General Marquez, but why does he go after Barillo? Unless I missed a big part of the story, Barillo’s part in the film is kind of useless.

I like Robert Rodriguez and I like Mexico. I couldn’t go wrong with this film. I didn’t think it was too bad. And I found out the answer to my own question; Barillo was the one who set up the coupe cause the president was gunning for him.
