I am on a mass gain diet right now that is going pretty well. I have put on 5 lbs in 3 weeks. The program recommends supplements such as Glutamine and Creatine.
My question is about those two supps specifically. Glut is manufactured by the body, correct? It is not something that we ingest like Vitamin C or Calcium. Same goes for Creatine, correct? The thing I don’t understand about supplements is how they actually make it to the places they are suppsoed to get to. When I take a dose of Glutamine for example it goes thru my stomach and gets burned up by my acid? How does this help my muscles any? If your normal body function when eating food does not extract glutamine or creatine from in your stomach, then how does taking glut or creatine powder help you? Wouldn’t the glutamine just get digested like food and get pissed/pooped out?
I hope I made my question clear. I know absolutley nothing about physiology so I may be 100% off on my assumptions. If I am, can someone explain how Creatine and Glutamine get to my muscles?
