The “outweighed by 100 lb” thing is pulled by the paper from thin air, unattributed.

The “never asked for an attorney or changed his story” comes from “former Sanford police Chief Bill Lee”, with full attribution.

That’s what makes it different.

I see.

But Chief Lee, given that he had a motive to sugarcoat his department’s performance in light of subsequent criticism… might he have hedged a little? Is it possible?
