As some of you know, I am putting together a trip to Vegas for all Dopers over Labor Day (hey you all are invited BTW just email me if you are interested).
Wally was going to come with us and well, since he can’t I have dedicated the trip and our gathering in his honor.
I will be making tshirts for our event with Vegas Dopefest 2000 on the front but was wondering if I could highjack the Wally smilie to put on the back of the shirt?
Please let me know if it would be okay to use the smilie on our tshirts.

BTW, get your boney asses to and meet us wacky people! Saturday night will be a Beer and Pizza party in my suite and will be in honor of Wally. I assume we will have tequila and Canadian beer on hand.
Technically the smiley is the work of SDimbert; he graciously allows us to use it, but it’s his call as to what goes on with it.
But I’d be thrilled to buy such a shirt; I’m not going to be able to attend, but oh I’d love a shirt. Please lemme know what the tariff will be – and I take the biggest size you got.
In Vegas, you say? over the Labor Day weekend? Hm. I may have to show up in spite of my native reticence. In any case, count me in for a shirt. I assume details will be posted here as they become available?
I’m in a similar boat as Techchick. I’d like to make little 1.25" round buttons with :wally on it. I’m planning on making a batch and sending it off for Techchick to distribute in Vegas. I have my own button-making gadget so I’ll be pressing them at my place, but I still need sdimbert’s okay.
Please let me know if this is okay.

PS: sdimbert, if you have a larger, cleaner version of the gif for use let me know. It’ll produce better results on the button (and t-shirt, I’m sure).
What I plan on doing is create some logos for the front…I have asked all those on my Vegas email list to submit some as well.
My thinking is I will post the logos on my web site and have people vote on the one they like the most.
After that, assuming I have a good guestimate on the amount of people that will want a tshirt, take the design and submit for a bid. Luckily I know people in the industry.
After that, I will get an estimate of the amount of those that need to be shipped and figure out how much the shipping materials will cost.
Then I will come up with a final cost.
I will not charge anything over than what my costs are and will require money before I ship them out. I have a feeling that with the added smilie it will be around $10 a shirt, but I am not sure.
The shirts wont be released till August though…I don’t want to do them too far in advance of the Vegas trip…just FYI.
Techie, when you have an idea of when the shirts will be available, would you please post it here, for the benefit of those of us who don’t spend much time in MPSIMS?
No problem…Honestly I don’t want to have to ship out 300 tshirts. Since Wally’s death, I felt that it would be important to add a tribute to him on there.
I spent last night working up the :wally design for the buttons. I am still waiting to hear from sdimbert to okay my use of the :wally for the button design.
Once I have sdimbert’s okay, as promised, I’d like to send to interested moderators and admins (as well as one to techchick) each a :wally button. There is no way I can ship out 300 individual buttons, so I am ONLY sending out individual buttons to those mentioned above. My general feeling is that buttons can be distributed during Dopefests, thereby encouraging Dopers to attend (I realize a button by itself wouldn’t be sole incentive, but what the heck, it’s in the proper spirit) and meet others IRL. Button materials and shipping are coming out of my pocket so please don’t ask me to send you a big handful.
