Question for car detailers (or enthusiasts) (Also, this is a long shot...)

I recently purchased a used car (2016) with leather seats. The car has a pleasant smell that is best described as “soapy.” I have had the car for a month and I expect that the interior smell will dissipate at some point and I’d like to find the product the dealership used to condition it (I am assuming it’s the leather seats that were conditioned.)

I have reached out to the dealer but have not heard back. Googling hasn’t returned much, except one reference to Zymol leather conditioner having a slightly soapy smell, but looking at more info about that product, the smell isn’t described like that.

Anyone have any experience with a soapy-smelling product like this?

No experiance with this particular product, but with hot summer days coming up I’d let it sit in the sun with the windows open for a couple of days to allow whatever chemical they used to out gas and leave the car. If you don’t open the windows it will just stick to every surface in the car, espcially the window glass.

In case anyone cares, I found it! Turns out it isn’t a conditioner of any kind. It’s a simple air freshener sachet I found way back under the driver’s seat. A bit of Googling turned up the product from a company called Auto Scents. Bingo.

There are various kinds of vehicle air fresheners that promise to restore new car scent.

I probably could’ve used an industrial strength version back when I had my Dodge Colt. It got flooded in a parking lot during a heavy thunderstorm, and even after the water drained it smelled like the Okefenokee Swamp during hot weather.

This particular one smells more like (light) bar soap. Just very clean smelling.
