Question for QC People: Best Testing Tool?

QC/developers/other IT: which testing tool(s) do you prefer and why?

We’ve used Empirix for the last year, but our yearly fee is nearly due, so we’re considering other options. My manager wants something that does scripting, regression testing, and load testing. Open source is a plus. (All our testing is for web-based stuff.)

QC in IT only? Because many other disciplines QC/QA their work, reporting and sampling procedures.

I’m sure you know about WinRunner, so I won’t mention that. We use it in some instances.
We are just getting our feet wet with JUnit. I don’t have much to report on other than I’ve heard some promising things about it, and it is open source.
