I don’t know how many Dopers have heard of www.alldas.org, (no the link won’t work - I’ll explain in a bit) but they were/are an info security site, with a very nifty mirror for website defacements. Since I work in security software sales, I used them often - along with attrition.org and zone-h.org, for research, statistics, etc. - and, yes, occasionally call up defacees in my territory to see if they need any help with their :ahem: web server security.
Well, it has been down for a while now, which isn’t surprising in itself, since defacement mirrors occasionally get legal threats from end-users - which causes ISPs and hosting companies to get a little jittery. Usually when an ISP drops a mirror, they’re down for a couple days, and back up. But Alldas was intermittent for a few weeks, and now is down entirely - no 404 error, just a timeout to IE’s search page.
A search for “alldas” on Google, and even on www.theregister.co.uk, reveals nothing but old news. Does anyone out there know what happened? Not for my own sake - I can always research defacements on www.zone-h.org, or www.interrorem.com - although I loved alldas’ interface and search engine. I’m mainly concerned because I think they did great work, and it would be a bummer if they were knocked offline for good.
Anything anyone can provide would be great.
